Role Of Yoga
Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition and culture. The practice of yoga establishes the unity of body and mind, thought and action, self-control and perfection, and harmony between man and nature. It is a seamless relationship of health and wellness. Yoga is not a mere exercise, but a feeling of finding oneself with the world and with nature.
Yoga is the journey of the Self through the Self. One of the six schools of Indian philosophy is school yoga. Yoga is an ancient Indian way of life. Maharishi Patanjali is considered to be the founder of the yoga system. It is a method through which balance can be established between body, mind and soul. The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’, which has two meanings, one meaning ‘to join’ and the other meaning – discipline. The practice of yoga creates a connection between the body and the mind, so that the mind remains disciplined.
It is a type of exercise, which improves life by controlling the body and mind. Yoga is a science to live a healthy life always. It is like a medicine, which gradually cures various diseases by regulating the functioning of our body parts.

Yoga is really an art of life. It is relevant as per the need of today. Nowadays yoga has become more popular, because people are realizing its importance. The key to modern stress treatment lies in yoga. The scientific and systematic result of yoga can be achieved through the improvement of physical and mental health.
It is a natural means to keep us physically and mentally healthy. As a result of modern life we have got a hectic and dissatisfied lifestyle. It is all due to irregular eating habits, lack or improper sleep, long working hours etc. A new generation of children or adults are discovering healthy vitality, physical flexibility, energy and overall immunity to diseases. One way to cure all these is yoga.
A balanced life with a balanced body and soul can also be achieved through yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation. By making yoga a part of our daily routine, we feel energetic. Through yoga, not only diseases are diagnosed, but a new energy can also be infused within oneself. This is a very safe, easy and effective way to get the body in the right shape.
The main distinctions of yoga are: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga and Hatha Yoga.
Karmayoga is the path of service. It inspires us to serve others. Bhakti Yoga teaches us how to worship God. Bhakti yoga is a positive way to control emotions. Bhakti yoga is the yoga of the mind, from which tolerance arises. Jnana yoga is the yoga of the intellect. This yoga requires the development of the intellect. Raja Yoga is the most prevalent yoga at present. It is the most important part of the branch of Yoga. There are eight parts of yoga – yama (concentration), niyama (conduct or self-discipline), asana, pranayama (control of the breath), pratyahara (control of the senses), dharana (concentration), dhyana or meditation and samadhi (the ultimate). Feeling of joy or attainment of salvation).
Hatha Yoga is the predecessor of Raja Yoga. The practice of Raja Yoga is possible only through the practice of Hatha Yoga. Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi are the mainstays under Raja Yoga. But Asanas, Pranayama, Mudras etc. are predominant in Hatha Yoga. The most important and famous part of Hatha Yoga is ‘Asana’. Sitting comfortably with one mind and stillness, is called ‘Asana’. The asana keeps the mind stable and the limbs firm.
The eight forms of spiritual practice in yoga are Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi. Yama resistant and rule compliant. The process of yoga begins with asana and before that the instrument has to be purified by passing through Yama and Niyama. It makes you yoga friendly.
The practice of asanas is capable of bringing stability to the body and mind. It provides the ability to maintain physical status and awareness. Pranayama is a systematic form of the process of breathing. With its regular practice, the process of respiration remains normal. It helps in creating awareness in the mind and controlling it. By controlling his respiratory system, his authority increases over the major organs of the body – mouth, nostrils and lungs. The process of control over the body is completed by making puraka, laxative and kumbhaka the core of one’s spiritual practice.
Complementary breathing is the process of inhaling. In Kumbhaka, the seeker holds his breath inside the body and in Rechaka he expels Pranavayu. In Pratyahara the senses are controlled. At this stage, the practice of moving towards human integration by abandoning worldly matters is the integration of the broader form of mindfulness, which translates into meditation. In this process, contemplation and integration gradually turns into a state of samadhi. This process of yoga makes the body under the control of the seeker, through which he uses his mental energy on the basis of his inspiration. He can inhale, hold it and release it whenever he wants.
Benefits of yoga
Yoga is not an act of union of the soul with the Supreme Soul. It is a spiritual function in any form. Yoga is actually a physical and mental activity, which keeps the body healthy. Yoga is a complete exercise. Our body becomes strong with its various asanas and pranayama. It is a function of healthy body and mind along with daily activities. Yoga and Pranayama strengthen our respiratory system.
Activities like Nadi Shodhana, Sheetali, Kapalbhati increase the balanced amount of Pranavayu in the body. This makes the nervous system healthy. Balanced respiration increases the amount of oxygen in the body. With this, diseases like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer can be controlled. In modern life, a person suffers from mental stress and anxiety. Anxiety, fear, anger, jealousy etc., mental development leave an adverse effect on our body. Regular yoga controls the restless mind, freedom from mental disorders and the development of a healthy body. By the immunity of the body we bring from viruses, which make our body free from diseases.
By practicing yoga regularly, the immunity power in our body increases. Many diseases can be cured by regular practice of yoga. The intensity of many diseases is reduced and many diseases are cured. To get rid of diseases, it is necessary to consult a yoga expert and practice accordingly.

The history of yoga is 5000 years old. The people of the West became acquainted with yoga when Swami Vivekananda told about the importance of yoga during his visit to Chicago. After this, many yoga gurus had an important contribution in the promotion of yoga in the west.
Today the popularity of yoga is increasing in the West. The credit of spreading yoga in India and the world, popularizing it and providing education to all the people goes to Baba Ramdev. Swami Ramdev established a state-of-the-art medicine manufacturing unit in addition to Patanjali Yogapeeth Trust in the year 2006 at Maharishi Dayanand Village, Haridwar.
Established two service projects named Patanjali Ayurved Limited. Through his yoga camps, Baba Ramdev is working to spread the importance of Indian culture and yoga to the people in foreign countries as well. Baba Ramdev has a resolution that the whole country should be healthy.
Yoga Day was celebrated for the first time on 21st June, 2015. It was initiated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014. He said that yoga is an invaluable gift of the ancient tradition of India and it symbolizes the unity of mind and body.
It is the harmony between man and nature. On December 11, 2014, 177 members of the United Nations approved of celebrating ‘International Yoga Day’ on 21 June. The resolution was passed with an absolute majority within 90 days, which is a very short time for any day resolution in the United Nations.
Therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi understood the importance of yoga and everyone should get its benefits, for this, with his tireless efforts, Yoga Day was given a new identity as ‘International Yoga Day’. On June 21, 2015, the first Yoga Day of the world was celebrated in 191 countries of the world.
India’s main program was held at Rajpath in Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which 37,000 people from 80 countries performed yoga together on Rajpath. Yoga by so many people on Rajpath together has been recorded in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’. A special postage stamp was issued in India on this occasion and coins of ₹ 100 and ₹ 10 were issued.

There are countless benefits of yoga. We can only say that Yoga is a boon given by God to human civilization. Truly it is nothing less than a miracle that the diseases for which there is no cure in the present system of medicine, today people are conquering them through yoga. It not only gives physical and mental benefits, but it also gives us self-knowledge.
